I have attended the ‘CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing Symposium on Application of Digital Health in Community Centres: The First Step in a Stepped Care Approach to Primary Care of Older People’ today. The Symposium covers the WHO’s current evidence-based guidelines for primary care in older people.
A higher degree of prevention and empowerment approach was mentioned, taking psychological, cultural, and socioeconomic factors into consideration when formulating care plan for older adults. I truly hope that a more comprehensive and integrated service will be developed to satisfy the unmet needs of the aging population in Hong Kong.
